Standard Service Checklist

General Overview

LAST AMENDMENT : 13.03.2018. Please read these following points carefully. As a small business we aim to be as straightforward and concise as possible with each customer  to ensure that our deliverables are clear, and your expectations are met. Based on our ongoing customer feedback we believe we are the most detailed, professional window cleaning service in our area. To help you make your decision we've put together a clear list of what is and isn't included in our standard service.

Window Cleaning

Following is our standard operating procedures for our regular window cleaning service. Requirements outside of this must be discussed, and priced respectively, prior to our work beginning.

  1. Upon Arrival

    Upon arrival we will present our business card to you and introduce all members of the crew (if more than one) working at your premise. We will let you know how your windows/glass will be cleaned, the intended start and finish point, and estimated time for completion. We will also ask you if there are particular areas that you would like us to concentrate on if you have certain areas you would like done as a priority.


  2. During Cleaning Procedures

    • Shoe covers worn inside at all times

    • Protective drop sheets/towels used to protect floors, carpets, and sills

    • Cobwebs removed from interior window and door frames

    • Cobwebs removed from exterior window and door frames

    • Window glass cleaned

    • Sliding door glass cleaning

    • Window frames and sills wiped down

    • Window fly screens soft washed and frames wiped

    • Door security screens soft washed and frames wiped

    • Window tracks brushed and wiped with damp cloth

    • Sliding door tracks brushed and wiped with damp cloth

    • All furnishings, blinds, curtains etc returned to their original position


  3. Upon Completion

    Upon completion we will let you know that the job is complete and will point out any problem areas that may need further attention in the future e.g. hard water stains. We will ensure you are happy with the outcome, before asking for payment. You will receive your receipt via email (or text of preferred) within 24 hours of your payment.


  4. Things You Need to Know

    • For your own peace of mind we ask that you remove any valuable items from the window and window sill area to prevent any accidental damage.

    • Depending on how soiled your fly screens are, they will either be brushed down and wiped with a damp cloth, or washed with detergent using a standard applicator. We do not pressure wash screens due to the high risk of damaging them.

    • Please advise our staff if your windows have been tinted, modified, or are a Low-E style of glass. Some types of tinting and energy efficient coatings cannot be cleaned using standard cleaning practices.

    • If you have booked an external only window cleaning service please make sure all fly screens in windows and doors are unlatched so that we can remove them from the outside to gain access to the glass.


  5. What's Not Included In Our Standard Service

    • We do not 'wash' the window frames. We wipe them with a damp cloth and remove the surface dust and dirt. If you would like a more detailed clean please let us know at the time of the quote.

    • We do not remove hard water stains during a standard window cleaning. Hard water stains require additional chemicals and man hours to remove so must be quoted for in addition to the standard service.

    • We do not remove years of grime and grease that accumulates in sliding window and door tracks. We do brush them and wipe them with a damp cloth to remove the most visible dirt.

    • Internal glass such as mirrors, mirrored wardrobe doors, internal glass doors etc are not included in your quote unless discussed at the time of the quote and detailed accordingly.

Gutter Cleaning

Following is our standard operating procedures for our regular gutter cleaning service. Requirements outside of this must be discussed, and priced respectively, prior to our work beginning.

  1. Upon Arrival

    Upon arrival we will present our business card to you and introduce all members of the crew working at your premise. We will also let you know how your gutters will be cleaned, the intended start and finish point, and estimated time for completion. We will also ask you if there are particular areas that show signs of overflow, leaking, or requiring further inspection.


  2. During Cleaning Procedures

    • Appropriate ladders and safety precautions will be taken at all times

    • You will be advised of potential access problems due to roof pitch, structural instability, or any other impediments

    • As can be reasonably expected will remove, via blower and hand tools, leaf and organic matter from the gutters

    • Valleys will be cleared of leaf matter

    • Downpipes will be flushed to ascertain they are free flowing

    • All gutter debris are then collected and placed in your organic/garbage bin

    • Surrounding roof line and ground are will be blown to remove disturbed leaf matter

    • Photographs taken of key lengths of gutter and downpipe inlets


  3. Upon Completion

    Upon completion we will let you know that the job is complete and will point out any problem areas that may need further attention in the future e.g. blocked downpipes. We will present our photos to you to ensure you are happy with the outcome, before asking for payment. You will be emailed or texted a receipt within 24 hours of your service.


  4. Things You Need to Know

    • Whilst we can move most outdoor furniture and furnishings we ask that you remove any clothing from washing lines as it is likely it will be affected by the gutter cleaning process.

    • Please ensure occupants, children, guests, and pets stay a safe distance away from our work area, ladders, and the general roof line to prevent accidents and injury from falling debris.


  5. What's Not Included In Our Standard Gutter Cleaning Service

    • We do not clean the exterior surface of the gutters or downpipes. This can be arranged at an additional cost.

    • We do not remove gutter-guard in the process of cleaning. This is often fixed and requires significant time and resources to remove and re-fit.

    • We do not unblock downpipes that need to be removed and physically unblocked. Only a qualified roof plumber can perform this task and warrant the work.

    • In addition we cannot repair gutters, fittings, or downpipes as you are required to use a certified roof plumber for this type of work. We can only perform minor repairs such as resealing.

Solar Panel Cleaning

Following is our standard operating procedures for our regular solar panel cleaning service. Requirements outside of this must be discussed, and priced respectively, prior to our work beginning.

  1. Upon Arrival

    Upon arrival we will present our business card to you and introduce all members of the crew working at your premise. We will also let you know how your solar panels will be cleaned, the the access points we require, and estimated time for completion.


  2. During Cleaning Procedures

    • Appropriate ladders and safety precautions will be taken at all times

    • You will be advised of potential access problems due to roof pitch, structural instability, or any other impediments

    • Your solar panels are cleaned using de-ionised water fed through carbon fibre poles and traditional glass cleaning techniques

    • Photographs taken of the cleaned solar panels


  3. Upon Completion

    Upon completion we will let you know that the job is complete and will present our photos to you to ensure you are happy with the outcome, before asking for payment. You will be emailed or texted a receipt within 24 hours of your service.


  4. Things You Need to Know

    • Please let us know if you have had any roof leaks or broken tiles so that we can protect your roof and our personal safety.

    • Please ensure occupants, children, guests, and pets stay a safe distance away from our work area, ladders, and the general roof line to prevent accidents and injury from falling debris.


  5. What's Not Included In Our Standard Solar Panel Cleaning Service

    • We do not perform electrical checks, testing and/or repairs. This is something that can only be done by a licensed electrician.

Weather Conditions

On occasion we may be forced to reschedule your service due to poor weather (forecasted or otherwise). Generally we are able to complete the job if there is light rain. However, if we deem to conditions to be unsafe, or deem the likelihood of such to occur on the scheduled day, we reserve the right to change your booking. Neither you nor we are liable for failure to perform or for delay in performing any obligation (excluding payment) under this Agreement if the failure or delay is caused by any circumstances beyond your or our reasonable control.

Glass Scratch Liability

It is accepted and understood by ALL parties that properly used metal scrapers, and #0000 steel wool, are standard tools and techniques for professional window cleaning in removing debris (plaster, paint, glue, tape, stickers, etc.) from glass. The majority of the scratches found on glass result from poor glass quality. The surface quality of glass will have a direct effect on the possibility of scratching the glass during cleaning. Low-quality glass has fabricating debris fused to its surface, which at the time of cleaning has a very high likelihood of being dislodged and dragged across the glass surface, resulting in scratching.

Due to the widespread problems related to poor quality regular and heat-treated glass scratching during basic window cleaning and construction window cleaning, Window Cleaning PROS will not be liable for any scratches on any regular, tempered or heat strengthened glass during standard window cleaning or post-construction window cleaning.

Warranty

Cleaning of windows, gutters, and solar panels is not unlike any other cleaning service in that we make no guarantees as to the ongoing cleanliness or operability of your windows, gutter, and solar panels. Depending on your location your windows, gutters, and solar panels may remain clean for years, or weeks. As such, there is no warranty associated with our service, other that your nominal statutory rights under common law, and our fabulous professional service guarantee.
